How we handle your personal information

BrokerDesk is a responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). This notice explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry through our contact form we collect:

• Your name, company and role
• Your email address and, if you provide it, your phone number
• The size of your book and anything you tell us in your message
• The IP address the form was submitted from, for fraud and abuse prevention

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may record your IP address when a font file is requested.

Why we collect it

• To respond to your enquiry and prepare a proposal
• To keep a record of our correspondence with you
• To protect the website from automated abuse

We process this information on the basis that it is necessary to respond to a request you have made, and where applicable, on the basis of our legitimate interest in running and protecting the website.

Who we share it with

Enquiries are delivered by email to BrokerDesk and stored by our email and hosting providers on our behalf. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

Enquiry details are kept for as long as needed to respond and, if we go on to work together, for the duration of that relationship and any retention period required by law. Enquiries that do not lead to further contact are deleted within 12 months.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us to:

• Confirm whether we hold personal information about you
• Provide a copy of that information
• Correct or delete information that is inaccurate, out of date or no longer needed
• Stop processing your information for a particular purpose
